July Update

Well I have truly neglected my writing of late. And this is something I must not do - I love writing and also it helps me ‘get my head sorted’....  All sorts of thoughts tend to be going around in my head, but writing seems to untangle everything and it takes on a more logical form...
I think I will briefly outline what has happened lately and my emerging thoughts etc, and go into more detail in future blogs. This might be incredibly boring to read….. sorry…… 
Ok, here goes:

• Confirmation - was confirmed in May - what a wonderful day - absolutely fabulous and meant so much
  
• ‘Foundations in Christian Ministry’ course - Yaaaaay both Ruth and I got accepted - so we will be starting in September. Am trying to read all 10 books on the suggested reading list - 5 read so far
  
• I wrote and read a Sermon in Church - I felt so privileged to be asked to do this, and totally inadequate to actually do it. But went for it - 25 hours of research and writing about the Holy Trinity and I had produced something - with helpful advice from Yvonne and Fr Simon. Now what is really strange is that I was not nervous in the least about reading it in Church…. I think possible I had help…..
  
• Books - in addition to the course books I have taken a liking to reading books by Timothy Keller - a New York Pastor. Am working my way through all his books, and listening to him on You Tube
  
• Identity and Christianity - am becoming very interested in this area - would love to research this area further and write about it
  
• Podcast - am starting a Podcast Channel - Space for Faith - with my good friend Ruth - the plan is to interview people about Christianity. It will be totally ecumenical. More on this later…
  
• Church Stall - Ruth and I have started having a stall to promote the Church at the monthly community market held at the Church. This is still in its early stages and needs to be developed.
  

So there we have it. I think I need to start writing more in depth on a weekly basis - so that is the plan…..
